In a New Jersey neighborhood, a father reportedly shot his wife, followed by his teenage son, and subsequently himself inside their home.
Authorities were alerted to the incident in the Succasunna neighborhood on Tuesday morning, March 7, following a welfare check. Upon arrival, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office discovered the bodies of the three victims.
Law enforcement sources informed WNBC that a man carried out the shooting before taking his own life, indicating an apparent case of murder-suicide within the property on Justine Place.
As of Wednesday morning, the Prosecutor’s Office could not confirm these details or disclose the identities of the victims.
Prosecutors have stated that an active investigation is ongoing, assuring that there is no threat to the community. They also promised to release further details “at the appropriate time.”
